The ice cream's original mission was to save Babycakes. Naomi's staffordshire terrier mix, Babycakes, had surgery after rupturing her knee. Naomi decided to try her hand at making ice cream for the first time and hosted a pop-up offering frozen delights by donation to generate funds. Even when Babycakes was well on her way to recovery, requests for her refreshing sweets continued. Naomi viewed it as a message that she and Babycakes should go to ice cream school in Pennsylvania. Babycakes was denied admission due to a lack of funds.
